- Nature of the Service
Zoof provides a peer-to-peer (P2P) file facilitation service. You acknowledge and agree that:
- No Storage: The Service does not store, host, or cache your files on our servers at any time.
- P2P Connection: Our infrastructure serves only to facilitate a direct connection between the Sender and the Recipient. Once a connection is established, data is transmitted directly between the two parties.
- End-to-End Encryption: All communications facilitated by the Service are secured with end-to-end encryption. Zoof [WDB Corp] does not possess the keys to decrypt your file content.
- Data Logging and Metadata
While we do not store your files, the following information is logged as a necessary part of our service and subscription management:
- File Metadata: We log file names, file sizes, and timestamps of the transfer to provide you with a history of your activity and to manage subscription quotas.
- Connection Data: We may log IP addresses temporarily to facilitate the handshake between parties.
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or share your metadata or personal information with any third parties, except as required by mandatory European law.
- Jurisdiction and GDPR
The Service is operated and governed under the laws of Germany.
- Server Location: Our servers are located within the European Union.
- GDPR Compliance: We process data in strict accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Users retain all rights to their data, including the right to access, rectify, or erase the logged metadata associated with their account.
- User Responsibilities and Prohibited Content
Because Zoof does not monitor or store the files being sent, you are solely responsible for the content of your transmissions. You agree not to use the service to:
- Transmit illegal, infringing, or malicious content.
- Violate the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Distribute malware or viruses.
- Note: Since we cannot see your files, we rely on user reports and legal notices to address violations, which may result in account termination.
- Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zoof shall not be liable for:
- The loss of data during transmission.
- The failure of a P2P connection due to network configurations (e.g., firewalls or NAT issues).
- Any damages resulting from the content of the files sent between parties.
- Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for users who violate these terms or fail to maintain a valid subscription.
